Registering a Birth

All births in England or Wales should be registered in the area where the baby was born within 42 days of the date of birth. 

Remember to register your baby as a patient with your doctor’s surgery.

You can claim Child Benefit as soon as you’ve registered the birth of your child.

Also don't forget your six-week post-natal check.
