The Care Leaver Covenant is a national inclusion programme that supports care leavers aged 16 to 25 to live independently.
This is achieved through a range of activities such as education, employment and training and aims to create meaningful opportunities in five key areas. These are as follows:
- Independent living
 - Education, employment and training
 - Safety and security
 - Mental and physical health
 - Finance
 
Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, working in partnership with local authorities, has pledged to support this cohort of young person and has tailored support available:
- Introduction to sector and organisation
 - Sharing of apprenticeship and/or widening participation opportunities
 - Work experience
 - Job application guidance sessions
 - Mock interview support
