This video was developed to support families who have experienced the loss of a baby. It has been created in collaboration with Blackpool Teaching Hospitals and the University of Lancashire. With an Occupational Therapy focus, this resource is designed to gently support families as they navigate the transition of returning home again, helping to acknowledge the emotional, physical and everyday challenges that may arise during this time. Our aim is to offer compassionate, practical guidance that supports wellbeing, routine, and adjustment following loss.

Rebuilding daily routines after loss: 

After loss, everyday structure can feel disrupted or difficult to maintain. Simple routines like getting up, eating, sleeping or completing daily tasks may feel overwhelming. This video offers a compassionate look at how to slowly and gently rebuild routine in a way that feels manageable, flexible, and kind to yourself. It focuses on starting small, creating gentle structure where possible, and allowing space for rest and emotional needs along the way. There is no pressure to “get back to normal” only support in finding what feels workable for you right now.

Going back to work after loss can feel overwhelming, emotionally draining or uncertain. This video gently looks at ways to communicate your needs, whether that’s requesting adjustments, setting boundaries or letting others know what support feels helpful (or not helpful) for you. It also highlights that there is no “right” way to handle these conversations only what feels safe and manageable for you in your own time and capacity.

After loss, the things you once enjoyed can feel distant or difficult to return to. This video gently looks at how hobbies whether creative, physical, or calming activities can slowly be reintroduced in a way that feels pressure-free and supportive. It’s not about going back to how things were, but about noticing small moments of interest or comfort and allowing yourself to explore them when you feel ready.

You are not who you were before, and you don’t have to be. You are allowed to simply be where you are.
