When someone dies, it can feel overwhelming. You may feel many different emotions.
There is no right or wrong way to grieve.

We are here for you and this bereavement page is here to help you:

Bereavement support is an important part of care following the death of a loved one. Many people find support within their own network of friends and family. Others may need extra support often available through their own GP

At Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, our bereavement office team are available to provide the initial information and can signpost you to appropriate bereavement support including our Swan Team.

  1. Ask the ward or community team and questions you may have to help you in the immediacy. If they cannot help you then, they can arrange for someone to call you.
  2. Information - you should receive an information leaflet – “For you in your Loss”  please ask if not. You can access an online version of this leaflet here
  3. Call the Bereavement Office the following working day on 01253 953723 between 9am - 3.30pm.  They will explain next steps and support and guide you through any questions.
