Location

The phlebotomy out-patients department at Blackpool Victoria Hospital is found on the ground floor in the pathology department which is located in Area 2  at the end of the main corridor next to east park drive entrance

There are also community phlebotomy services provided from Whitegate Drive Health Centre, ground floor, and Fleetwood Wellbeing Centre, 1st floor​​.

Limited short stay car parking is available at all 3 sites, including disabled access spaces.

Note: Patients, where possible should be advised to book their appointments at the Whitegate Drive or Fleetwood clinics. Some tests are time bound or specialist, they need blood to be taken at Victoria Hospital site – please see list below.

Patients must attend the phlebotomy appointment with a fully completed request card (CyberLab form) detailing which tests are to be performed, so the correct type and number of sample tubes are taken. 

NOTE: Blood samples for CHROMOSOMES (for sending to St Mary's Hospital, Manchester) MUST NOT be taken on a Friday as the sample will be too old for testing on Monday.
