The Caldicott Guardian acts as the "conscience" of the organisation in relation to how patient information is handled.
The Caldicott Committee was commissioned in 1997 under Dame Fiona Caldicott to look into ways the NHS could improve how patient information is handled. There have subsequently been two reviews in 2013 and 2016.
Our Trust’s Caldicott Guardian is Dr Neil Hartley-Smith, Chief Medical Officer.
