We recognise the importance of clear communication, our interpretation and translation services make it easy for patients and visitors who need support. 

We can provide verbal and written support for patients whose first language is not English.    

Our translation service is available on request. 

If you or your family member need an interpreter to assist during your appointment, arrangements will be made for your hospital or clinic appointment.  We have a large pool of interpreters available to us 24 hours per day.  If you are being referred to the Trust by your GP, ask them to tell us you need an interpreter.

If you require a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter, these are booked at the time of the appointment being scheduled.  Confirmation of the interpreter booking can be requested via bfwh.patientexperience@nhs.net.

Documentation in a large print format is available on request as are hearing loops.
