A manager in the Trust’s Radiography team has been honoured for his work to help improve patient experience and reduce costs.
Chris Lund, Radiology Systems Manager, won the Innovation category as part of the recent Lancashire and South Cumbria Diagnostic Imaging Network’s Excellence in Diagnostic Imaging Awards.

The Radiology Systems Team was highly commended in the Innovation Award category for their work to improve access to patient records. This has had a significant positive impact on patient pathways, delivered notable time and cost efficiencies, and strengthened compliance with data legislation.

Ben Ward, CT Imaging Manager, was highly commended for the Leadership Award, with judges recognising his continuous professional and personal support to the team. He was nominated for his leadership in the deployment of a new state-of-the-art CT scanner and for his ongoing commitment to the professional development of radiographers within the CT service.

Emily Logue, CT Radiographer, was highly commended for the Extra Mile (Individual) Award for consistently going above and beyond in her support of patients. Her empathy, compassion make a meaningful difference to those in her care, and she was nominated by her teammates for being a great colleague to work with.
Janet Fletcher, Diagnostics Programme Project Manager from the Lancashire and South Cumbria Provider Collaborative, said: “We had a great response to the awards across the Diagnostic Imaging Network, which cover the Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB area. It was pleasing to see nominations from all professions working within Radiology, including admin and clerical, support workers, nurses, radiographers and radiologists.”
Ben Ward, CT Imaging Manager, added: “I’m incredibly proud of our team. Despite the many challenges we face, they consistently support one another and continue to deliver excellent patient care. These awards reflect their ongoing hard work, dedication, and professionalism in maintaining high standards in Radiology.”
