Children awaiting anaesthesia prior to undergoing an MRI scan now have a more welcoming environment thanks to a charming woodland scene being painted by local students.
The wall art was painted by students at Blackpool School of Art, part of Blackpool & The Fylde College, following an invitation from BTH consultant anaesthetist Dr Jason Cupitt asking them to create some potential designs.
Hospital staff then voted for their favourite scene from around 30 designs that were submitted by students.
Jason said “The winning design was created and painted on the wall by Amber with the help of other art students under the guidance of Jules Burton who is the Art and Design programme leader at the college. Previously the wall was often the last image that children saw as they drifted off to sleep and we hope that the painting has transformed their experience here into a more relaxing and enjoyable one.
"I’d like to say a huge thanks to everyone at the college for helping us create this delightful memory”.
