Four Blackpool Teaching Hospitals colleagues have been recognised for their hard work and dedication at the Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Health and Social Care Apprenticeship Awards.
This year, 11 BTH apprentices were shortlisted for the awards, in categories including Rising Star, Perseverance and Team Player.
Each year, these regional awards celebrate and honour the excellence and dedication that apprentices working within the NHS demonstrate every day. The 2025 winners were announced during a virtual event and four of the Trust’s shortlisted apprentices won in their categories.
The BTH apprentice winners were:
-
Lee Monks, Physiotherapy Assistant, was awarded Clinical Apprentice of the Year.
-
Rebecca Clapham, Cardiac Physiologist Assistant, was awarded Non-Clinical Apprentice of the Year.
-
Emma Jenkins, Physiotherapist Apprentice, received the Innovation Award and
-
Joanna Hindle, Long Term Conditions Service Manager, received the Perseverance Award.
The Trust was also honoured to receive the Employer of the Year Award for ‘displaying a strong commitment to nurturing and supporting apprentices.’
Mark Hayes, BTH’s Apprenticeship and Widening Participation Lead, said: “I would like to congratulate all apprentices who received a nomination at this year’s NHS Health and Social Care Apprenticeship Awards 2025.
“Once again, our Trust community embraced the awards by submitting very strong nominations, a point which was noted by the awards organisers. I would like to personally thank those who took the time to write, submit, and nominate a Trust apprentice.
“Over recent years, apprenticeships have grown and gone from strength to strength here at the Trust, which my team and I are very proud of. Our apprentices have won multiple internal and external awards and more broadly, the Trust is now able to boast over 500 apprenticeship completions across a range of Apprenticeship Standards, levels and professional groups”
“As a team, we are thrilled our apprentices, our programme and now our Trust has been recognised by our peers in such a way. A huge congratulations to those who were nominated, shortlisted, the winners and a thank you from the team and I, to all involved.
Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to all of our apprentices across the Trust for their hard work and commitment.”
