Nicola commented: “Being a hospital patient gives you time to think and I think because of that, people’s receptiveness to us is greater. We are present, we listen and bear witness to what they are going through. It’s a privilege even when it is in sad circumstances.”
She added: “I really like the atmosphere here, it feels calm and friendly and that’s reflected in the people I’ve met too. It’s also encouraging to meet people who’ve worked here for many years and who have family members in the Trust”.
Nicola’s focus is working with families, providing reassurance and helping them to adjust to ups and downs of their journey, saying it’s a real privilege to be able to do that.
When not at work, Nicola describes herself as a nature lover, keen reader and avid gardener. She’s also a foster parent and says this compliments her work with paediatric patients in chaplaincy.
Welcome to the BTH family Nicola – we’re delighted to have you with us.
