Harper therapy dog bandana.jpgMeet five-year-old cockapoo Harper who is our newest Pets as Therapy (PAT) dog at the Trust, bringing joy to patients with her confidence and friendly nature.

Harper had already proved her suitability for the PAT role through her background as a therapy dog within her own family.

Harper’s owner, Ruth said: “Harper is reasonably new in her visits and has only been a few times. Each of these times, on arriving, Harper struts through reception as if she owns BVH and is always happy to be seen and made a fuss of. Patients who have seen and spent time with her have commented on how she is willing to sit, listen and be petted and allow a smile to appear on some faces from what can be a trying time for patients and their families. Harper loves it when everyone makes a fuss of her, being petted and the best part…extra treats! She also enjoys tummy tickles, chasing the ball (maybe deciding to return it) and sitting with people.”
