Congratulations to two of our patients who have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a surprise blessing in the hospital chapel.

Elizabeth, 81 and Kenneth, 82 were joined by the Trust’s CEO, Maggie Oldham, who came along to share her congratulations and share a toast with the family.
Elizabeth and Kenneth’s other daughter, Karen, and their grandchildren gathered to watch as Rev Andy Scholes gave a blessing to the couple. They opened their many cards, including one from HRH King Charles and shared some non-alcoholic fizz, tea and cake to mark the special occasion.
Elizabeth met Kenneth when she worked as his family’s milk lady. Seeing the potential for a possible romance, Kenneth’s mother introduced him to Elizabeth and the rest is history. Elizabeth worked as a nursing auxiliary at Wesham Park Hospital and Clifton Hospital. The couple also have a son, Michael, who passed away aged 46. Their family home is in Kirkham.
A thank you message from the family:
Kenneth and Elizabeth Taylor, Joanne, Karen and all the family would like to take this opportunity to thank Grace, Ward Manager on C1, Jenny, Jackie, Chaplain Andy, Sarah from Communications and Catering Manager Lorna Miller for making our Diamond Wedding Anniversary a very special and memorable day.
Also, thank you to Maggie Oldham for taking the time to come and congratulate us personally, we were completely overwhelmed.
We would also like to thank Accident and Emergency, AMU, Ward C1 and Ward 25 for the excellent care we have received at a very busy and pressured time of the year. All the staff went out of their way to care for us. Nothing was too much trouble.
We can't thank you all enough. Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas
