Holly Andersen was nominated for the Health and Public Service Apprentice of the Year prize in the annual Lancashire Apprenticeship Awards - and was delighted to win.
During her time at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals (BTH) she designed a rehabilitation program working with local leisure centres and received several awards. Holly has recently become a student ambassador, with the aim of giving back to others and helping to support and develop future apprentices within the Trust.
Alongside Holly, colleagues Nichola Ambrosini, Senior Pharmacy Technician, and Jenny Dunne, Speech and Language Therapist Apprentice, were also shortlisted for Mentor of the Year and Health and Public Service Apprentice of the Year respectively.
Holly said: “It was lovely to be shortlisted and to be sat around so much talent in the room, I can’t believe I won! I am so grateful for the support and encouragement from the Apprenticeship team throughout my apprenticeship journey! I will continue to try to make everyone proud and help to develop myself, other students and apprentices within my newly appointed student ambassador role”.
Mark Hayes, Apprenticeship and Widening Participation Lead at the Trust, said, “A huge congratulations to our winner of the Health and Public Service Apprentice of the Year Award Holly Andersen. The win reflects the commitment, energy and enthusiasm Holly puts into both her apprenticeship and job role at the Trust. Congratulations must also go to Jenny Dunne and Nichola Ambrosini, for their finalist positions and contribution, to both their own programme and the apprentices to which they support”.
