1940s Evening of Swing raises £2k for Blue Skies

A vibrant evening of 1940s glamour, dancing and music got everyone “In the Mood” for the perfect start to Lytham’s 1940s weekend.

Hosted by Jane Dean, guests took to the dance floor and showed off their moves with the fabulous music of the Memphis Belle Swing Orchestra.

Stunning performances from singers Lynn Francis, Jane Dean, Rachel Lee, Emma Jackson and Grace Redfearn ensured the marquee was packed all night.

Donations, a tombola and an auction all helped boost the funds raised to a whopping £2000 for Blue Skies.

Head of charity, Kila Redfearn said “Huge thanks to Jane, our host, to all the singers and musicians, volunteers, everyone who helped or donated in any way and special thanks to Fylde Council for the use of the marquee.”

“Everyone had an amazing night and we hope to be back with a bang next year!”
