From the age of 16, it may be possible for you to undertake work experience at the Trust.

Trust work experience lasts between one and five days and through observation, will allow you to gain a greater understanding of what it’s like to work in a healthcare setting.

You will observe professionals at work, carrying out their duties and you will have the opportunity to ask questions. Upon completion of the work experience, you will be able to record your experience on your CV.

Upon completion of our work experience placement evaluation (a method we use to ensure our work experience placements are of a high quality), you will receive a certificate of attendance which you can keep for your personal record.

These are some of the benefits of a work experience placement:

  • Gain an insight into the different healthcare roles that are available at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals
  • Help inform your career decisions by completing a work experience placement
  • Enhance your CV, support a college or University application by demonstrating you have completed a placement at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals
